Manitoba Tour!
Tuesday, 17 March 2009 07:44

We've just recently come to the conclusion of our thirteen day swing all across the miles in Manitoba.  In years past , we have not had the privilege of singing in Manitoba an overabundance, and it was a pleasure to see many new faces, and share encouraging evenings with each one of them.  We felt right at home in our hockey jerseys, as most of the venues held people of all ages wearing hockey attire.  We also feel blessed to have shared the evenings in conjunction with Harold Giesbrecht, his wife Natalie, and Dean Davidson, the director and representative for CSSM camps located in Manitoba (Canadian Sunday School Mission).  God is doing amazing work in these camps dispersed throughout the nation, and it was neat to hear the testimonies of individuals taking part.  In the midst of the excitement, we were faced with a difficult endeavour.  Norma's eldest brother, Ron Frentz passed away a couple of weeks previous to the tour, and the funeral was to be held in Kelowna on the eighth day of our Manitoba swing.  CSSM was more than gracious to allow the family to fly out to the funeral.  Norma made the decision to stay an extra day, and the family returned home the next morning to be back in Manitoba for a concert in Altona.  In spite of little sleep, and the absence of a family member, God was present and undertook for what was another encouraging evening.  His faithfulness is always apparent and truely overwhelming time and time again.  Once again, we want to give all praise, honour and glory to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for His perfect life lived, and loving sacrifice!  Thank you to all those who attended, and to everyone for your unfailing prayer and support!

Singing 'n' Skiing
Monday, 30 March 2009 13:11
We were honored to have spent a weekend in Copper Mountain with The Focus On The Family ski retreat.  We met many new friends, enjoyed the exhilarating outdoors on the slopes, shared in music and laughter, but most importantly furthered our relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Dr. Tackett, you were such a blessing and an inspiration.  Thank you for speaking truth into our lives, and for your one on one time spent with each one of us.  Dave, thank you for your constructive criticism on the mountain, and your morning stretches for all them achin' bones!  Congratulations to all those over sixty who faced the tubing hill!  Thank you to all we met for your generosity through the family death, and for all our encouraging visits.  Kurt, Amanda, and Gary, this event would not have been possible without all your hard efforts and contributions.  We felt truly blessed through the events' entirety and are all looking forward to the day when our paths with each one of you will cross again.

News

We've spent nearly a month down in the U.S. working on our second CD and doing some concerts. It has been a special time with the family as well as an amazing experience witnessing the excellence in musicianship in Nashville. God is always faithful and we're thankful for the opportunity to do this once again. We're recording some familiar songs plus a few original/new songs to us. We will post updates on the progress of the CD as it moves along. (Dec. 13/08)

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Luke's eye. He has had two surgeries on it, and is on the road to recovery. For those of you who haven't heard, he was playing hockey in Wichita, Kansas and damaged his eye in a fight. The outcome could have been much worse and we are Praising the Lord for His goodness in the healing that has already taken place. (Dec.13/08)

Harvest is upon us! Chaff in the eyes, dust in the lungs, and long days together with family. It's a busy yet rewarding time of year. Reflecting back on the summer, we're so thankful and amazed at the blessings the Lord has given us. Every one of the singing events that we were a part of opened opportunites to meet and get to know new people and reunite with old friends, but most importantly share and sing together of the greatest news which is Jesus Christ and His perfect life, sacrifice and resurrection for us! Thank-you for being a part of a wonderful summer. (Sept. 10/08)

Thank you everyone for praying for Dusty's voice. The Lord has been so gracious in helping him over the course of the summer. Please continue to pray that the Lord brings complete restoration. Thank you so very much.

Shipshewana
Saturday, 13 December 2008 17:18
Along with being down in Nashville, we also spent a week at the Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana, Indiana. Tuesday and Wednesday we had the privilege of once again singing with The Hoppers. We were blessed and encouraged by many people who we met for the first time, and we got to reconnect with other great friends from the past. (There were even some friends from Canada who came!). We had a great time and once again were made aware of The Lord's goodness to us!

Family Fest
Monday, 06 October 2008 14:17
We made our first trip to Idaho ever as a family to sing...and what a wonderful time it was. We had on opportunity to sing with fellow Canadians and friends, High Valley, as well as reacquaint with our friends in Liberty. It was special for us to take in Phil Cross's songwriters showcase in the afternoon. We met many fantastic people and made many new friends. We're looking forward to the day we get to return and see you all again!
